Blizzard Beach a Splashing Good Time for Guests of Disney Hotels
For visitors staying at Downtown Disney area resort hotels, and who are looking for a wet and wild time, there’s plenty to do at Disney’s Blizzard Beach. Visitors to Disney hotels may not know that the “legend” behind the park says that it all started with a freak snowstorm in Florida, prompting a ski resort to pop-up out of the ground. Once the legendary snow melted, an alligator took the opportunity to slide down the melted ski jumps, turning the area into the water park that visitors of hotels near Walt Disney World know today! Or at least that’s how the legend goes…
The water park is located in Disney near many Orlando hotels. Most of the slides and attractions in the park are located atop Mount Gushmore, which is divided into three colored slopes, making it easy to navigate for guests of Disney hotels. On the Green Slope, splashers will find Summit Plummet, the second tallest and fastest free-fall waterslide. At the Green slope, visitors from hotels near Walt Disney World will also enjoy the Teamboat Springs raft ride and the Slush Gusher bodyslide.
At the Purple Slope, more fun awaits guests of Orlando hotels. Located here are the Downhill Double Dipper racing slides, Snow Stormers mat slide, and the eight-lane Toboggan Racers. Nearby, at the Red Slope, guests of Disney hotels will find Runoff Rapids, a 600-foot inner tube run.
There are many other features within Blizzard Beach for visitors from hotels near Walt Disney World to enjoy. Check out the wave pool, the Cross Country Creek lazy river, and the variety of slides and pools designed for younger children. There are also plenty of places for guests from Disney hotels to get a snack, take a break from the sun, and buy souvenirs.
